Extensive interpretation of Foreign Affairs Manual
[edit]In #Travel, there's basically a whole section of interpretation of the Foreign Affairs Manual which I don't think follows Wikipedia policies and guidelines. We aren't supposed to pick out specific primary documents for focus like this. Up to the sentence in the second paragraph that ends "USCIS then either confirms the petition is valid as initially approved, or definitively revokes it", the section depends exclusively on FAM for four citations and the travel.state.gov website. The section needs more secondary sources telling us that this topic is suitable for inclusion. Then, after that, the amount of interpretation should be minimal in order to not run afoul of WP:HOWTO or WP:SYNTH. I've discussed this with another editor on my talkpage and think the conversation should continue here. ☆ Bri (talk) 19:38, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
Re: Copyediting
[edit]So, this article appears to more than just copy editing. For example, example it has two top level headings called "History." The second of the two is excessively long and contains no significant information that is not already addressed earlier in the article. I propose that it is deleted. - Hey, @TheYearbookTeacher! We don't delete articles for being poorly written. We fix them. If you can help fix this article, please do! Valereee (talk) 12:00, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I didn't mean delete the article. I was talking about the article having two top level headings with exactly the same name. That's what I was suggesting being deleted. But, indeed, since it's been a while and I haven't heard any objections, I will make the revisions I had planned. :) TheYearbookTeacher (talk) 04:07, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
- Forgot to tag you. Sorry for the confusion @Valereee! TheYearbookTeacher (talk) 04:07, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
- No worries! Yes, definitely delete anything that's repetitive! Valereee (talk) 13:25, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
